Kiwi's Treasure Responsible Gaming

Kiwi's Treasure Responsible Gaming gives every player the tools and information to keep gambling under control. Set limits, take breaks and know where free help is when you need it.

Our responsible gambling commitment

We want our players to enjoy their time with us and stay in control. Every account on Kiwi's Treasure has direct access to deposit, loss and session limits, time-outs and self-exclusion, all from a single Responsible Gaming menu in your account.

Every page of our site mentions the legal age (20+) and a confidential gambling helpline number. We never encourage chasing losses, depositing more than you can afford, or borrowing money to gamble. If you ever need to slow things down, the tools are one tap away and our support team can help you set them up.

Tools every casino should provide

Deposit limits cap how much you can put in over a day, week or month. Set the figure before your first deposit, not after a bad session.

Loss limits cap how much you can lose, separate from deposit limits. Useful if you also receive cashback or free spin winnings that bypass the deposit cap.

Session time limits log you out after a set period. Particularly useful for slot players, where time can disappear without you noticing.

Reality checks pop up at intervals (15, 30 or 60 minutes) to remind you how long you have been playing and how much you have wagered.

Time-outs lock your account for 24 hours up to 6 weeks. Use them as a circuit-breaker when you feel a session getting out of hand.

Self-exclusion locks your account for 6 months, 12 months or permanently. The casino cannot lift the lock before the period ends, even if you ask.

Warning signs to watch for

Spending more time or money than you planned. Chasing losses with larger bets. Lying about gambling to family or friends. Borrowing money to gamble. Feeling restless or anxious when not playing. Neglecting work, family or social commitments to play.

Recognising one or more of these in yourself is not weakness. It is the early warning system that lets you take action before the problem deepens. Talk to someone, set tighter limits, or reach out to the helpline.

Free help when you need it

Independent gambling helplines in most countries are free, confidential and open around the clock. Search for the gambling support service in your country, or ask our support team and we will point you to the relevant national helpline. Our Get Help page lists the major international resources together with the tools you can switch on inside your account.

These services are independent of any casino operator. They will not pressure you into anything, and the first conversation is no commitment.

Helping someone else

If you are worried about someone close to you, the same services support family and friends. You do not need to know the full picture to call the helpline. They can guide you through how to start the conversation and what to do if your concern is met with denial.

Avoid lending money to someone you suspect is struggling. It almost always makes the problem larger. Encourage them to set limits or take a time-out, and offer to be there when they reach out for help.

Underage gambling is never acceptable

The legal age to play with us in New Zealand is 20. We do not market to anyone under 20 and we encourage every parent to enable parental controls on devices used by children. Tools like Net Nanny and the built-in Screen Time on iOS allow you to block gambling sites at the device level.

If you suspect a minor is using your account or any account on Kiwi's Treasure, report it to our support team immediately. We will close the account and refund any verified deposits in line with our policy.

Setting limits that actually stick

The most effective deposit limit is one that genuinely changes behaviour. If you can hit the cap without thinking about it, the limit is too loose. A useful starting figure is what you would happily lose on entertainment in a month with nothing to show for it. Lower it from there if the limit is being touched regularly. Raising the limit takes 24 to 48 hours, which is the cooling-off window built into our system. That delay is intentional. Most impulsive decisions to deposit more do not survive the wait.

Pair the deposit limit with a session time limit. A two-hour cap is enough for most casino sessions, and you can always log back in after a break. Long marathon sessions are where decisions slip, even for experienced players.

Closing or pausing the account

If the in-account tools are not enough, the next step is closing or self-excluding. Self-exclusion is the stronger option because the casino cannot reopen the account during the locked period, even if you ask. Account closure suits players who simply want to step away without the formal lock. Both processes are explained step by step on our Close My Account page, including how to handle any remaining balance.

When to take a break versus stop entirely

A short time-out is the right tool when a single session got away from you and you want a circuit-breaker. Self-exclusion is the right tool when gambling has been a recurring source of stress for weeks or months and the in-account limits keep being topped up. Permanent closure is for players who want a clean break with no temptation to revisit the account later.

There is no shame in any of those choices. The tools exist precisely so players can pick the level of intervention that fits their situation. You do not need to wait for a crisis to use them.
